Things To Do In Layton, Bountiful and Ogden!
Out Door Recreation - With
world-class recreation such as skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking,
its not surprising that people frequently visit Davis and Weber Counties. All
these activities encompass an area that includes all the components of a large
metropolitan city combined with the recreation havens of an outdoor paradise,
making these two counties an ideal place to live, work and vacation.
Since Utah is a four-season state there are
a variety of different activities the whole family can enjoy year round. From
skiing in the winter to hiking in the summer Utah has it all.
Winter Activities - Bounded by the
Wasatch Mountain range, resident and visitors alike are never more than 20
minutes away from skiing Olympic runs, ice fishing and hundreds of miles of
clean mountain air and body numbing adventure.
Anyone who has skied Utah's mountains know
that Utah's slogan, "Greatest Snow on Earth," is no boast. The perfect
combination of elevation and precipitation provide Weber County's three
premiere ski resorts with the driest fluffiest powder around.
-
Skiing - Snowbasin-Ski the 74
percent grade of the Olympic grizzly run and eat lunch on a mountain ledge at
8,900 feet. Four hundred inches of snow blanket the mountain each year creating
3,200 acres of exhilarating chutes and bowls.
Powder Mountain-Why fight
long lift lines and compacted snow? Powder Mountain, with guided backcountry
skiing and a first-class heliski operation, has 5,550 acres of fresh,
mind-blowing powder.
Nordic Valley-Take a half a day off work and go to
Nordic Valley for intense boarding or night skiing. Bring the kids along and
have a family sledding outing. With a recent expansion, this resort promises to
provide family fun for years to come.
-
Snowmobiling - Utah's recreation
is not limited solely to riding the slopes. Explore the mountains on miles of
trails groomed for snowmobiles. The Monte Cristo is the states's most popular
snowmobile destination.
-
Ice Fishing - It's the reservoir
of choice for summer recreation but when Pineview Reservoir is glazed with ice,
the fisherman reign supreme. Located just 10 miles east of Ogden, the
2,870-acre surface yields crappie, bluegill, sunfish, and catfish to ice
fisherman.
-
The Ice Sheet - This Olympic
Venue was the second ever to host the century-old sport of curling. The Ogden
Curling Club Plays a game once a week and enthusiasts expound on the finer
points of the game to curious spectators. The ice sheet also holds open ice
skating and even ice hockey.
Recreational life in Utah doesn't stop when
the warm weather begins. It just means put away the snow attire and get out the
summer attire used for the many activities that warm weather brings. Mountain
Biking and Hiking is a haven of recreation with over 210 miles of trails and
terrin suitable for every level of hiker, biker, or horseback rider.
-
Golf - Bounded by majestic
mountains with lake views, the area's 16 golf courses range from 9-hole
executive courses to full-scale, 18-hole courses within a 15 mile
radius.
-
Hot Air Ballooning - The blazing
red and orange leaves provide a perfect backdrop for the equally colorful hot
air balloons. Hot air balloon rides are available year-round with baskets
accommodating anywhere from two to six people. Soaring soundlessly between
1,000 to 2,000 feet, riders are treated to the spectacular site of Antelope
Island, Hill Air Force Base, Ogden Canyon, and the surrounding
cities.
-
Antelope Island - Antelope
Island, located on the Great Salt Lake, is a wildlife sanctuary for buffalo and
other animals. The island is also an ideal place to spot pelicans and avocets
or float in the famous salt water of the Great Salt Lake.

Closing or Settlement >Estimated Closing Costs
There is a federal law that requires mortgage lenders to give prospective buyers an itemized, "good-faith" estimate of their closing costs. Sometimes buyers arrive at the closing with this document in hand and proceed to question each item on the final closing statement that does not match the estimate exactly.
These "good-faith" estimates are just that--estimates. The lender's charges will be fairly accurate, but the charges for attorneys, termite inspections, title insurance, and other items that appear on the closing sheet may vary from the estimate. Some pro-rated items, such as taxes or homeowner's association fees, will also be different if you don't close on the date that was used to calculate the estimate. The purpose of the disclosure law is to give you a ball park figure of your closing costs. But the estimate you are given won't be to the penny--probably not even to the dollar!
